The city of Varanasi is visited by thousands of visitors every year because of its excellent offerings in the form of Hinduism, spiritualism, mysticism and Indian philosophy. This holy place is filled with numerous Ashrams, Ghats, temples, Stupas and sects. Apart from Hindu Temples, there are numerous Jain temples and Buddhist Stupas also. The river fronts are the major attractions of Varanasi City where innumerous rituals and religious activities take place. Varanasi City is a place of unlimited attractions. Sarnath features and archaeological museum where you will find the Ashoka pillar, which is the National emblem of India. Apart from that, there are quite a few remains of the past, found in the museum. Varanasi can be reached from all major cities and states in India by railways, roadways or by air. Being located in the North Indian Plains, the city is connected very well to the major cities of India such as Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. Varanasi Junction and the Kashi Junction are the two railway stations in the city. Varanasi also has excellent road-networks that make way for frequent bus services and other road transport services. Reaching Varanasi by air is also very easy as the city is accessible from almost every major city. There are state owned Indian-Airlines and several private air operators also.
